We're now less than a month away from one the premiere end-of-season track meets on the national stage.

The third-annual RunningLane Track Championships, scheduled for May 26-27 in Huntsville, Alabama, could shape up to be the best installment yet thanks to added events, top committed athletes and new state-of-the-art renovations to the host track at Milton Frank Stadium.

MileSplit will be on-site at the RunningLane Track Championships with comprehensive live event coverage, complete with race streams, articles, photos and more.

Registration is still open and will close at 11:59 p.m. CST on May 22. More info on how to register can be found here.

This year's event will feature three new races -- the 400m, the 2,000m steeplechase and DMR -- alongside the typical competition slate that includes the 800m, mile and 3,200m, making for a true all-around distance and mid-distance showcase.

Then there's the added 'wow' factor to the championships, including music and an under-the-lights atmosphere for the fastest sections, that makes the RunningLane atmosphere quite unique. Plus, athletes will take to the Milton Frank Stadium that boasts a newly-resurfaced track prepped for fast racing.

And you can't forget the event's history of producing elite-level performances. Since the event's beginning in 2021, RunningLane Track Championships has seen athletes put down historic marks , including a world age group mile record from Sadie Engelhardt two years ago and a near sub-4-minute mile from Rocky Hansen in 2022.

Some of the country's top distance athletes have already announced their commitments to race in Huntsville, including 4:00 miler Devan Kipyego, US No. 2 all-time indoor 800m racer Alex Leath and Indiana all-around distance talent Nicki Southerland

You can see a live list of some of the current top athletes entered for the 2023 event here.

An official meet schedule will be announced the week of the event once registration closes, but you can look at last year's schedule for reference.
