When it comes to the 100m ... Texas is king and it is not even close.
The Lone Star State boasts nearly half of the top 100 boys teams in the nation when it comes to 100m depth. In fact, the nation's No. 1 team in the 4x100, Fort Bend Marshall, is from Texas and is just four-hundredths of a second away from the national record in the relay.
But guess what? Fort Bend Marshall's '100m depth' is only 11th on this list. Why? We'll get to that later. But consider this: Not ever 100m team consists of just 100m athletes.
The team rankings for 100m depth takes into account the top four 100m runners on an individual team and averages their times from this year. Texas schools make up 15 of the top 21 schools and they have 46 in the top 100.
