THE OTHER FESTIVAL
While everyone else was in the desert watching their favourite artists, the best high school track and field meet in the country was happening 90 minutes away. Coachella had its headliners and so did Arcadia.
Jackson Spencer broke the high school 3200m record. Union Catholic broke another national record. Rosary went US#2 all-time in the girls 4x100m. Quincy Wilson broke a meet record in his second outdoor race of the season. And that was just California. While all of that was happening, a 15-year-old from Mississippi ran 10.21, 20.66, and 47.66 in one afternoon, a Georgia junior became the first girl in her state to break 10 minutes in the two mile, and the best cross country runner in the nation signed her first NIL deal before running a single outdoor race this year.
