Sam Burgess Clocks US No. 4 Two Mile At The MIAA Meet Of Champions

* Sam Burgess ran a 8:59 to win the MIAA Meet Of Champions title this weekend

At his first-ever MIAA Meet of Champions, Sam Burgess of Framingham (MA) put together one of his best indoor performances.

The seventh-place finisher at Champs Sports Cross Country Nationals lined up at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston in the two mile. Burgess clocked a season-best of 8:59.27, which is the fourth fastest time in the country. 

He finished just ahead of St. John's Prep (MA) Nathan Lopez and Westford Academy's (MA) Paul Bergeron who finished the race in 9:01.32 and 9:04.08 respectively.
