Reign Redmond comes from an athletic family.

Her father, J.R., was a star running back in the late 1990s at Arizona State and played five seasons in the NFL, including catching the first completion that Tom Brady ever threw as a pro in November 2000.

Reign, a senior at Carson (CA) High School, chose track as her sport and has emerged as an elite sprinter.

The No. 22-ranked girls recruit in MileSplit's top 50 for the Class of 2023, Redmond has waited to make her college decision until this month. But she's narrowed her choices to Coastal Carolina, Georgia, Oregon, Tennessee and USC.

Only two other girls in the top 50 have not announced their college decision: No. 3 Sophia Gorriaran of Moses Brown School (RI) and No. 42 Jordan Washington of Serra (CA). Gorriaran and Washington are scheduled to make their choices this month, ...
