Athletes Shine At CIF Central Sectional Championships

On Thursday, the CIF Central Section Finals took on the Woodward Park course in Fresno. 

MileSplit50 honorable mention runner Christopher Caudillo of Clovis won the Divison I title in 15:01 as he earned a 190 speed rating for this effort. Milo Skapinsky of San Luis Obispo and Carter Spradling of Clovis East finished second and third in 15:13 and 15:16 for 5K, respectively. 

The team title was earned by San Luis Obispo, which earned 65 points. Madera South finished with a close second with 68 points, while Clovis was third with 75 points. 

On the girls side, MileSplit50 No. 4 ranked team Buchanan won the title with 18 points over Clovis North's 42 points. San Luis Obispo was the third-best team with 112 points.

Buchanan was led by freshman Kynzlee Buckley who won the title in a 17:39. Her teammates Grace Hutchison and Sierra Cornett were second and third with a 17:46 and 17:54. Avery Hutchison was fifth overall, while Sydney Sundgren rounded out the scoring team by finishing seventh overall.
