Below, we've compiled a list that displays how far the best distance runners have improved since their freshman seasons in 2019 until now. That, of course, includes the COVID year of 2020.
Let's take, for example, Crater's Tyrone Gorze.
A solid freshman season saw the Oregon run open up with a freshman best of 15:53.90. In ensuing years, however, he's gradually clipped off time, down and down and down.
