Myla Greene Pens With The University of Tennessee

NLI SIGNING WEEK IS HERE -- The University of Tennessee has landed one of the nation's fastest hurdlers. 

The Bullis School's (MD) Myla Greene signed her National Letter of Intent Wednesday, trading in her blue uniform for a bright orange one starting in the fall. 

MileSplit's No. 11 recruit in the Class of 2023 enters her senior season with personal best indoor times of 8.53 in the 60mH, 24.96 in the 200m, 39.22 in the 300m, 56.62 in the 400m, and 1:17.22 in the 500m. During the spring season, Greene clocked a time of 13.50 seconds in the 100mH at the USATF U20 Championships. When it comes to the longer hurdles, she clocked 41.70 in the 300mH and 58.27 in the 400mH. 



As a junior, Greene kicked off her season with a victory in the 60mH with an 8.53 at the VA Showcase, which stood as the tenth-fastest performance of the year.

As the season unfolded, she finished fourth at the Millrose Games in the 300m with a 39.22 before she won another gold at the MOCO Private School Championships in 40.13. 

As she moved into the championship part of the indoor season, Greene finished All-American at the New Balance Nationals Indoor Championships in the 60mH. The Bulldog crossed the finish line in 8.54 for fifth. Greene was a key member of the Bulldog's 4x400m which won the national title. 

Her success didn't end there.

Greene showed progression in the 400mH throughout the spring. She improved by seven seconds as she kicked off the year running two 1:05 over the 10 barriers and ended the year with a gold medal and a new personal best of 58.27 at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor. She became the third fastest girl in 2022 and one of three girls to dip under 59-seconds in this event. 

When it comes to the short hurdles, Greene claimed titles at the ISL Track and Field Championships and the Maryland Private School Championships.

During the summer, she finished second at the New Balance Nationals Outdoor with a 13.69 and was fourth at the USATF U20 Championships with a new lifetime best and US No. 4 time of 13.50.
