Recently, five of the nation's best boys high school distance runners began communicating via group text, exchanging messages and inquiring about their performances.

This time next year, they may still communicate that way, but they'll also be able to see each other in person as they'll all be attending Wake Forest.

The Demon Deacons, ranked eighth in the latest national coaches poll, have put together arguably the U.S.'s best and deepest distance recruiting class. They have received commitments from Rocky Hansen (Christ School in North Carolina), Hunter Jones (Benzie Central High School in Michigan), Ty Garrett (Center Grove High School in Indiana), Wesley Shipsey (Central Catholic in Oregon) and Aidan Ross (Uxbridge High School in Massachusetts).
