Analysis: This will be a special season for Olson as she strives to earn her first MHSAA Cross Country title. Last season, she finished third and will return this season as the second-fastest returner behind Rachel Forsyth.
Throughout the year, Olson won dual-meets, tri-meets and invitationals across the state of Michigan. Towards the end of the fall season, she put herself out there against national competition.
She finished 13th at the Team Nationals Midwest Regional Championships. Olson then focused on the Eastbay Championships where she was the 13th fastest girl on Balboa Park's course.
At the MHSAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, she won the 1,600m and 3,200m in personal best times of 4:44.52 and 10:12.43. She was ranked US No. 18 and 16 in those events respectively.
At the Brooks PR Invitational, she clocked a 10:15.17 personal best for two miles to finish seventh, which was the US No. 11 performance of the season.
