Analysis: Over the last couple of seasons, David, who was a standout runner from IMG Academy, returned back to her home state of Illinois and transferred to Olney. She hasn't competed on a cross country course since 2020.
However, during the 2022 outdoor season, she excelled on the track at the IHSA Outdoor Track and Field Championships where she won the 1,600m and 3,200m in personal bests of 4:47.52 and 10:04.02. Her 3,200m performance from the state championships was ranked US No. 7.
Her season didn't end there.
She competed at the HOKA Festival of Miles where she demolished her previous mile best of 4:57. David crossed the finish line victorious with a new lifetime best and a US No. 12 performance of 4:42.15.
This upcoming season will be her first time representing Olney on the cross country course.
