The 2022 outdoor season saw upperclassmen lead the way in the performance rankings.

Of the MileSplit 50 boys and girls honorees, high school juniors and seniors made up nearly 90-percent of the list. Seniors lead the way with 55 total selections, followed by juniors at 36.

The MileSplit50 boys list only features one underclassman -- sophomore distance talent Marcus Reilly of Northbridge (MA).

The lone two freshmen that made the cut? Eleventh-ranked Sadie Engelhardt and JaiCieonna Gero-Holt at No. 48, with Engelhardt making her presence well known in the distance events and Gero-Holt putting her versatility on show in the jumps and multis.
