The Penn Relays is nearly just a week away. And just how important is this meet on the calendar?
It's a high-caliber, nationally recognized meet where top collegiate programs and established high schoolers intersect.
Naturally, the Penn Relays also act as a showcase event for a handful of high schoolers who are aiming to be recruited at the next level.
While a handful of high school events like the 4x800m relay and the distance medley relay typically garner most of the headlines, it's the individual events that offer a greater race for coaches to evaluate.
The boys and girls miles, in particular, are the events that truly capture a great deal of attention from collegiate coaches. That being said, we shouldn't forget about the 3K, jumps and throws, which are worth of their own recognition, but I will be focusing on those two events specifically.
