If it isn't plainly obvious already, the Southeastern Conference has a great track record landing high school track and field recruits. 

In fact, evidence for that last part couldn't have been more clear than it was this past Wednesday.

That's because South Carolina sprints star Ian Myers of Brookland Cayce High School announced his decision to sign with Auburn University.

Myers is a major recruiting steal. This year alone he has emerged as one of the nation's elite sprint talents in a variety of short distance events.

The high school senior ended the 2022 indoor track season ranked at U.S. No. 13 in the 60m dash (6.76) and US No. 5 in the 200m dash (21.13).

However, that was only the tip of the iceberg for what has been a monumental breakout year for him.
