On Friday at adidas Track Nationals in Virginia Beach, Virginia, the Chesapeake native went 48.81 seconds at the distance, winning the middle school final.
It was the fastest indoor time ever run by an eighth-grader indoors, and it leaves the season as a U.S. No. 46 time.
