They are usually the first NCAA prospects to capture headlines in the recruiting circuit.

But sometimes, you have an athlete like Charlie North, a senior at Portland Franklin High School (OR) who up until this week was unsigned and an unknown recruiting commodity. He's an exception to that rule.

Earlier this week, the Portland, Oregon native made his verbal commitment to Georgetown via Instagram.
