Is Utah native Elias Gerald the most promising uncommitted senior remaining in the Class of 2022?

That was the question I began to ask myself on Tuesday night following the news that Gerald, a senior at Westlake High School in Saratoga Springs, Utah, had cleared a state record mark of 7 feet, two inches in the high jump this past weekend.

That result was a massive statement for Gerald, who had cleared 7-0 during the 2021 outdoor track season. To earn a two-inch personal best was impressive.

Back in December, MileSplit listed Gerald as the No. 43-ranked recruit in the Class of 2022. However, he was essentially tied with our No. 44-ranked recruit, Indiana native Brion Stephens.

At the time, Stephens also held a personal best of 7-0 in the high jump.
