Over the last few years, the University of North Carolina men's program has landed some of the nation's elite distance talents during the early National Letter of Intent period.
In 2022, Chris Miltenberg, the Tar Heels Director of Track and Field and Cross Country, has once again assembled an upper-echelon group of young talents. This time, however, his recruiting class consists of stars in areas other than just the distance events.
That said, the distance events are still the best place for us to start our conversation when talking about the future of the Tar Heels.
Walker St. John (TX) is one of the nation's elite distance talents, recently earning top finishes on the grass and securing wicked fast times that put him among the best in the Class of 2022.
