When programs like Southern California, Oregon, Texas A&M and LSU land top recruits, it's hard to be surprised. Those universities are traditional powerhouses, so it isn't shocking to see them score the nation's best young track and field talents.
However, one team that has taken an unexpected leap to the front of the (2022) class is the Ole Miss men.
Don't be mistaken, the men from Oxford, Mississippi have landed great recruits before. The men's program is a proven middle-distance powerhouse, has often produced numerous nationally competitive names in the field events and occasionally has a few respectable sprinters and hurdlers.
Even so, this year's group of Ole Miss recruits looks to be one of the Rebels' best collections of talent in recent memory.
