Mountain Vista (CO) High School's Benjamin Anderson has run well in every meet he's competed at so far this season. He started his season with a win in the freshmen/sophomore race at the Vista Nation XC 2-Mile Invitational. He ran 10:33, which was almost 40 seconds faster than the second-place competitor. His time would have earned him a top 10 finish in the varsity boys race.

Then, his first full 5K performance was just as strong, as he ran 16:17.30 to win the Arapahoe Warrior XC Invitational freshman/sophomore boys race. This was a time that would have again placed him in the top 10 in the full varsity boys race.

This past weekend, he was finally able to compete in the varsity race at the Liberty Bell XC Invitational and his results didn't disappoint. The freshman led his team in scoring, placing 13th overall. His time of 15:37.70 was speed rated at 173, which is one of the highest freshmen speed ratings so far in 2021.
