Coming down the homestretch, Balcer competed in his last MHSAA Class 5A state championship meet before heading off to Division II Mississippi College.
And he will look to defend his state titles in the 800m, 1600m and 3200m.
Over his career, Balcer has won two individual state titles for cross country and finished sixth at the RunningLane National Cross Country Championship.
Needless to say, we should expect a huge weekend from Balcer. The icing on the cake could be the 3,200m state record, which is held by Jake Raines of East Central.
Balcer set personal bests in the 800m in 1:55.01 at the MHSAA Regional 4-5A and went 9:13.11 in the 3,200m at the MHSAA Divison Meet 8-5A.
