Five Athletes To Watch At The MHSAA State Championships

Jordan Anthony, Tylertown

Class of 2022

The junior is undefeated this season in the 100m.

Anthony sprinted to a 10.33w in the beginning of April at the Pearl Track and Field Invitational. His fastest wind-legal 100m this year was a time of 10.74 (-1.6) seconds from the Gulf Coast Classic. With his speed and experience, Anthony will look to grab his first individual 3A state title in the sprints and the high jump.

This is no surprise as he's coming off a strong indoor season. He finished third in the 60m at the adidas Indoor Nationals with a personal best of 6.84 and he won the open 200m in 22.04. As a freshman, Anthony finished fourth in the 100m and third in the 200m at the outdoor state championship.
