In one year, there were three runners who showed over a 30-second improvement in the mile from 2020 until this season.
Antonio Camacho-Bucks of Centennial (MD) and Noah McMullen of Lutheran (MA) shaved almost 37 seconds in this event. Despite having a limited season due to the statewide limitations to prevent the spread of COVID-19, both boys gained some strength from the cross country season leading up to their indoor debut.
In his only mile race of the season, Camacho-Bucks finished second with a 4:14.50 at the VA Showcase behind Nathan Green. The young star has the potential to form into one of the nation's top milers as he is just a sophomore this season.
Missouri's Noah McMullen set a personal best at the BandBraceKC Winter Classic with a 4:34.49.
