This past weekend was action-packed when it came to track and field performances.

However, all of that excitement didn't just take place at the high school level. 

Many of the nation's highly-rated true freshmen made their NCAA season debuts for their respective teams, leaving us with a chance to quickly glance at their performances.

Here are a few names who stood out to us.

Athing Mu Leads Contingent of Top Texas A&M Youngsters 


There was no bigger headline this past weekend than Athing Mu taking the NCAA by storm. The Texas A&M freshman and former Trenton Track Club runner stepped onto the track this past Saturday and had the best 800 meter race of her life, soloing a 2:01.07 for the half-mile distance.

That time was a narrow personal best and an NCAA No. 5 performance all-time indoors.
