Tristian Merchant, Anchorage Christian (AK)

No one in Alaska history has been as good as Merchant -- at least since the turn of the century.

The small-school runner won his past three state championships in Division II, and nearly went unbeaten on Alaska soil across his entire career.

In October, at his final state championships, he set a new course record of 14:51.00, which was part of two times under 15 minutes on the season.

As a junior, he finished sixth at the Team Northwest Regional and ultimately would go on to become an All-American at Team Nationals in 13th place. He won a total of 24 races across his tenure and had four straight finishes inside the top three at state, three of those being wins.
