When we think about Northern Arizona in a track and cross country setting, it's understandable that our minds instantly gravitate towards the men's distance group.
The Lumberjacks have formed a modern NCAA dynasty responsible for producing some of the nation's top individual distance talents, a handful of the best cross country teams in NCAA history and (more recently) landing some of the best distance recruits in the United States.
Although the Northern Arizona men deserve every ounce of respect that they have been receiving, it's important that we don't overlook their female counterparts on the other side of the program, either. A reasonable question to ask: Is it possible to replicate that same success on the women's side?
With top-class coaching and access to great facilities and training environment -- at elevation in Flagstaff -- it's easy to see why recruits choose the program in the first place.
