Contenders: Mike Gupton (Rolesville, NC), Malcolm Johnson Jr. (St. Stephen's, VA), Gavin Schurr (Fairview, CO), Corey Wren (John Curtis, LA), Micah Williams (Benson, OR), Jaylen Wright (Southern Durham, NC), Dylan Brown (Detroit Renaissance, MI), Laurenz Colbert (Eleanor Roosevelt, DC), Richmond Kwaateng (Lowell, MA), Brandon Smith (South Shore, NY), Aaron Bell (Top End, FL).
Breakdown: As far as we can tell, Benson (OR) senior Micah Williams, currently ranked US No. 1 in the 60m, will not be in this field. Neither will Marcellus Moore, the fourth-place finisher a year ago who decided to enroll early at Purdue. Brown and Johnson are the only returners back after finishing sixth and seventh last year, respectively. But the true favorite in this field might be Gupton, who owns a US No. 1 mark of 6.22 seconds in the 55m.
Wright, who has a mark of 6.25 seconds -- good for a US No. 3 effort -- is right behind him while Johnson (6.26), Smith (6.27) and Kwaateng (6.30) will all be fighting to get through the rounds and into the final. Aaron Bell, who ran 6.72 seconds for 60m in January at the Carl Lewis Invitational, is also in the picture.

Girls 60 Meter Dash

Contenders: Serena Clark (Lakota East, OH), Kimberly Harris (Buford, GA), Jonah Ross (Garner, NC), Michaela Francois (Pflugerville Weiss, TX), Mia D'Ambrosio (Schalmont, NY), Amari Brown (Milwaukee Rufus, WI), Laila Owens (Fort Bend Bush, TX), Victoria Perrow (Bullis School, MD), Trinity Rossum (Buford, GA), Autumn Wilson (St. Dominic Salvio Catholic, TX), Hannah Waller (South Lakes, VA).
Breakdown: Defending champion Briana Williams turned pro this indoor season, which means she won't be coming back. The final eight finishers will be completely new and it could get interesting. Waller and D'Ambrosio own identical US No. 4 marks of 6.95 and enter as the top seeds out of the 55m.
There's also Francois and Wilson, who are US No. 3 and US No. 4 in the 60m, respectively, though they haven't run the distance since January -- they're already amidst their outdoor season in Texas.
Harris seems like a good bet, considering she's the defending EE champion from 2019. But there's also Perrow, Owens, Clark, Ross and Brown who could be sleepers.
