MileSplit's November Live Events Course Preview

Check out meets MileSplit will have live this November.

The MHSAA Lower Peninsula State Championship is set for Saturday, November 2nd at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn. MIS has hosted the meet since 1996. All-Divisions Meet records are held by Rockford's Dathan Ritzenhein, who ran 14:10.40 in 2000, and Lansing Catholic's Olivia Theis, who ran 16:52.10 in 2017.

UIL Texas State Cross Country Championships: Nov 9

The UIL Texas State Championships will be held on November 9th over a flat 5K at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock. Runners get out fast on a flat 800m straightaway before taking a sharp left turn which loops around before heading over toward the reservoir. Runners hit the 1600m mark on just the other side of the lake. Once on the west side of the lake, the course snakes around for almost two miles before crossing over a bridge and back toward the finish line, which is just behind the starting area.

Florida High School State Championship: Nov 9

The Florida High School State Championship will take place on November 10th at Apalachee Regional Park in Tallahassee, which will also be home to the 2021 NCAA Division 1 championship. The course features a net downhill which has historically allowed for fast performances. The downhill at the start is accompanied by "the wall" at 2k during the race. Runners will climb the wall twice as they head toward the finish. Leon's Sukhi Khosla set the high school boys 5k course record of 14:59 back in 2013. Last season, Mater Academy's Valerie Lastra set the girls 5k course record with her 17:17 state championship win.

2019 NMAA Cross Country State Championships: Nov 9

The New Mexico State meet will take place on November ninth at the Rio Rancho High School XC Course in Rio Rancho, New Mexico. La Cueva High School's SHADRACK KIPTOO-BIWOTT holds the boys 5K meet record at 15:23.00 while Sue Cleveland High School's  AMANDA MAYORAL holds the girl's record at 18:12.00.
