5. Josh Methner

Year: Class of 2020
Analysis: Last season Hersey High School's Josh Methner went from unknown to being one of the top cross-country runners in the Class of 2020. He did this with a string of huge postseason performances. He kicked off his big string of performances with a win at the 3A IHSA Cross Country State Championship. He then went on to place second at NXR Midwest and seventh at Foot Locker Midwest. Those runs earned him bids to both national championships where he earned All-American finishes, placing 15th at NXN and sixth at Foot Locker Nationals. At NXN in 2018 he was running for his team. This year he will look to again run well for the Huskies as they look to repeat as champs of the NXN Midwest Region.
