Nike Cross Nationals is headed our way on December 1 in Portland, Oregon.
Defending champion Manlius, also known as the girls of Fayetteville-Manlius (NY), are back, though the program isn't as retooled as it's been in previous years. And for the first time in 12 seasons, it seems, FM may not be the favorite.
Instead, a host of girls team could jockey for a national title: No. 1 Naperville North (IL), No. 2 Summit (OR), No. 3 Great Oak (CA), No. 4 Yorkville (IL) and No. 5 Mountain Vista (CO).
And yet, anything is possible, including FM's 12th title in the last 13 years.
