The Scoop: An Emerging Sprinter, Potential Hurdle Greats And All-Time Performances

2. Remarkable Weekend For Indoor Track

Generally speaking, it was a ridiculous weekend of nation-leading bests, with 23 U.S. No. 1 marks going down across the country.

In all, 13 new marks came on the girls side, with nearly every sprinting event dropping a new national best. From Arria Minor in the 60m and 200m to Bailey Lear in the 400m to Britton Wilson in the 500m, Tuohy in the 3K and Jacqueline Gaughan in the 2-mile, no time was safe.

New No. 1s were harder to come by on the boys side, but there were some standout efforts, like Saratoga Springs (NY) High's Shea Weilbaker in the 3200m (9:15.07), Patrick Piperi in the shot put (61-6.5), and Okheme Moore in the 60m (6.86).

Piperi, in fact, follows his brother Adrian Piperi, a University of Texas freshman and graduate of The Woodlands (TX), at the top of the national leaderboard.
