9. Jordan Hardy (Hampton, VA)
Jordan Hardy is making her presence known as one of the top jumpers in the nation. Hardy is currently tied for U.S. No. 5 in the long jump and holds the U.S. No. 4 mark in the nation in the triple jump.
In the long jump, Hardy jumped 18 feet, 10 inches, at the Peninsula District Meet #1, while in the triple jump she jumped 38 feet, 11 inches, at the Holiday Classic. She leads the freshman class in both.
For some perspective, she's already jumped further in the long jump than national class record holder Jasmin Moore did last year at this time of the season as a sophomore. On January 7, 2017, at the Texas A&M High School Indoor Classic, Moore went 18 feet, 5.75 inches. She finished her season with a long jump of 20 feet, 3.75 inches, and a triple jump of 42 feet, 6.75 inches. She also went on to place third in the long jump at NBNI and first in the triple jump.
Hardy is looking to challenge those marks, which are some of the best ever in the nation as only a freshman.
