The Scoop: The Indoor Season Is Ramping Up

5. Brooke Rauber Is Going To Start Turning Some Heads Indoors

If there's one key girls freshman to watch out for this indoor season, it's Tully (NY) High's Brooke Rauber.

The long distance standout, who competed for the first time indoors on Saturday at 607 Invite, is coming off a sixth-place finish at NXN on December 2 and a cross country season in which she earned her second straight Class D championship in New York.

Rauber, who finished as the No. 11 runner on the Flo50 to close the season, earned freshman of the year distinction in New York and produced a quietly dominant campaign, posting five efforts over speed ratings of 145.

She began her indoor campaign at the 607 Invite in Ithaca, posting a new U.S. No. 1 mark of 9:57.60 in the 3000m, a mark she is surely to improve upon if she competes in the event again.

Rauber's best as an 8th grader outdoors was 10:03.54.
