6. Sophomore State Records Go Down At Dogwood Track Classic
The Dogwood Track Classic in Virginia produced hundreds of top performances on Friday and Saturday, but three among them were sophomore state records.
Nansemond River (Va.) High's Kori Carter doubled in the 100m and 300m hurdles, running times of 13.91 and 41.93, respectively. Those times both captured top 20 times nationally.
And in a loaded 400m girls field with state champion studs, it was Mills Godwin (Va.) High's Britton Wilson who captured a US No. 6 time of 53.63 seconds.
All three efforts earned Carter and Wilson sophomore state records.
