Luis Grijalva Runs U.S. No.1 1500m at Stanford Invitational


Armijo High's (CA) Luis Grijalva laced up with the collegiate athletes on Friday night to toe the line in section 3 of the men's 1500m at the Stanford Invitational.  Grijalva dropped a nation-leading time of 3:49.89 to place 9th in his heat. 

Jonathan Davis from University of Illinois ran a 3:45.64 to win the heat followed by the University of Arizona's Carlos Villarreal who took 2nd. The fastest time of the day was posted by Kasey Knevelbaard from Southern Utah University who ran 3:41.76 out of section two.

The NAU commit's time ranked 5th at the end of 2016 and ranks 27th in the past decade.
