1/3 Weekend National Rundown

MITS Meet @ University of Michigan #1 (MI)

Ersula Farrow US #2 4:59.85 1600m, US #7 57.75 400m!

The first edition of the MITS Meet at the University of Michigan featured several national-caliber stars experimenting with new events - though perhaps the performance of the day went to Westland John Glenn senior Jaron Flournoy, who showcased his sprint chops with a huge personal record for US #1 6.78 60m Dash.

International 800m competitor Ersula Farrow (Oak Park, MI) showed off her range with a US #2 4:59.85 1,600m performance, as she led Rachel Dadamio (Birmingham Seaholm) to an indoor personal best 5:01.45 runner-up finish. The boys' 1,600m runners were just as hot, as Drake Gauthier (Grand Blanc) - also normally an 800m specialist - went up in distance to blitz a US #2 4:18.61, just ahead of Morgan Beadlescromb and Jason Ferrante (Northville). Gauthier's win marked a 10 second indoor personal best at the distance - he may have training partner and Foot Locker Nationals champion Grant Fisher to thank for the improvement.

Foot Locker All-American Audrey Belf (Birmingham Seaholm) ran down in distance, winning the 800m in 2:18.76. Defending New Balance Nationals Outdoor 800m champion Donovan Brazier (Grand Rapids Kenowa Hills) made his indoor debut, clocking 1:57.44 to win by four seconds.

Farrow returned to the track for the 400m, clocking US #7 57.75 to finish runner-up behind US leader Anna Jefferson (57.59). Jefferson's nation-leading time is 56.13 for the quarter.
