NOVA THREEPEATS! The race was predomenantly controlled by Standford from the gun. Amy Weissenbach led off for Standford, handing off in first with a time of 3:24.84 with Stephanie Schappert close behind in 3:25. After the 400 leg, Stanford still maintained the lead with Kristyn Williams splitting a 52.37 400 leg. It was during the 800 leg that Villanova, Oregon, and Georgetown chipped away at Stanford's lead. At the 1600 meter leg handoff, all four teams were back together. The final leg consisted of Emily Lipari and Aisling Cuffe breaking away in to a two girl pack. It wasn't until the final 150 meters that Lipari made her move to overcome Cuffe. Lipari ended up outkicking Cuffe for the win, splitting a time of 4:33.45. Cuffe anchored Stanford to a second place finish with a 1600 split of 4:35.86. Villanova's overall time was 10:57.35 with Stanford placing second in a time of 10:57.64. Georgetown took third, clocking in at 11:06.14.
