Keeping my dream alive…
I think a lot of people drop out of this sport because some choose the, what I call, "easy way out." Even though I'm sure it's not mentally easy for someone to give up, but it is mentally harder to keep on going! I have to constantly remind myself about what exactly I am working for because I tend to lose focus or tend to focus on the wrong goal… There are many steps I need to take now, baby steps, before I even come close to achieving other small goals I have… But the important thing is, is that I am taking those steps. I am constantly trying to pay attention to the small details, which become bigger details later on… ABC drills, strides, core strength etc… It's easy to come back from a long run and say, "ah, that's enough for today…" But sometimes I have to force myself to do something extra, something else like maybe stretch for 20 minutes longer, or do some ab work. After a long run though, all I want to do is shower and then I am like, ah, I don't feel like getting sweaty again…hahaha! So I found a system… I just put on something dry so that way I don't care if I get sweaty doing sit ups again…I know, why am I sweating so much doing sit-ups…you haven't seen the new Josi sit-up routine, it's quite hard, and everyone, even if they have a six-pack, would even break a sweat! I picked up some new things here and there…from watching the pros up in St. Moritz, or just asking questions to those who have experience here in Switzerland. So it's not about getting in the ab-work this or this many times a week, but it's about getting them in! And being able to fit all the other details in… I know I've written about this a lot, but I have to keep reminding myself….have to keep pushing, have to keep working, enduring, and most of all, have to keep dreaming…It is after all, a big dream I am trying to chase down in a certain amount of time….I have a deadline...And that's just how it is.
