June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6

Thursday – June 1, 2006
Training: AM: 32 minutes, 20 minutes core strength
PM: 53 minutes
Day Mileage: 11 miles, 18km
29.5, 47.5
Week Total: 40.5 miles, 65.5km
Where: Steffisburg and Spiegel
Weather: cold!!!
Training details: Nice, hilly runs today. Spiegel, where Livia lives, only has hills around so she is always apologizing to me! Lol. What doesn't kill us, makes us stronger! And the hills aren't terrible…it's just that the first time I went to Livia's to run, I was shocked to see up-hills that were longer than like 300 meters because my idea of a "hill" back then was a little bit different than the idea I have now. I am in the mountains of Switzerland so I guess I just got used to it!

Friday – June 2, 2006
Training: 50 minutes
Day Mileage: 6.5 miles, 10.5km
Week Total: 47 miles, 76 km
Where: Steffisburg and Thun
Weather: cool and sunny.
Training details: Easy "jaunt" if you will.

Saturday – June 3, 2006
Training: AM: 50 minutes
PM: 25 minutes
Day Mileage: 10 miles, 16 km
Week Total: 57 miles, 92 km

Weather: cool and sunny again…when is it going to get warm????
Training details: tired legs!!!

Sunday – June 4, 2006 – My Dad's Birthday
Training: 55 minutes
Day Mileage: 7 miles, 11km
Week Total: End week…64 miles, 103 km
Where: Wolhusen
Weather: rainy at first and cool…
Training details: Legs felt tired…hence why we decided not to workout this weekend.

Spring? What's that?
Switzerland totally skipped over spring. It snowed last week down to 1,000 meters! SNOW. At the end of May…ridiculous! Supposedly it is supposed to get hot next week…luckily when they say hot, it never gets over like 90 degrees over here! Please, North Carolina humidity and heat…THAT is hot!!! So I am looking forward to a REAL change next week! AKA, I can put away my sweaters for real this time!!!

Monday – June 5, 2006
Training: AM: 50 minutes
Day Mileage: 7 miles, 11km
Week Total: 7 miles, 11km
Where: Wolhusen
Weather: finally nice and warm!!!
Training details: Felt good today! We're not pulling back too much on the training, but we're also not piling on the mileage this week. I have a 10k road race on Sunday, which is going to be a pretty big deal (14,000 women are registered to race at this Women's only road race) and it gets tons of media attention every year in Bern. I am pumped!

Tuesday– June 6, 2006
Training: 20 mins warm up, 10 cool down, Workout….2,000m (without watch), 2 mins rest, 1,000 (without watch)
And then 5x200 meters
Day Mileage: 7 miles, 11km
Week Total: 14 miles, 22km
Where: Lachen Stadium (Thun)
Weather: warm,windy,sunny
Training details: Was told to run a steady, comfortable pace… FritzBoss told me not to use my watch, so I just handed it to him so I didn't have the temptation to cheat. Hahaha! I ran comfortable paces for both of them and then blasted some 200s to get my little non-speedy legs moving!
