AMERICAN FORK GRASS RELAYS: UT#1 American Fork dominates at their own Grass Relays Invitational. A relay style format featuring five two mile legs over a hay bale course the Cavemen broke into the top five total team time list. A list dominated by National Champion Mountain View teams. Texas:
GAZELLE XC INVITATIONAL: Girls Race Summary: Three of the top Region 4-5A girls met in this early season race and did not disappoint. The course was ran at the Southside of Decker Lake in Austin. The course for the girls was a challenging 2 mile course. Ashley Maton (12:10) ran away from Rachel Baptista (12:18) and Marissa Lee (12:21). The Round Rock McNail girls ran away with the team title scoring 54 to Antonians 69. McNeils 1-5 Average was 13:12 with a 1-5 split of 59 seconds. Boys Race Summary: TAPPS standouts Matt Gazda and Dennis Hodapp dueled on a tough 3 mile course which included a huge hill. Hodapp ran away from the field in 15:43. He was with the group for the first half of the race than ran away convincingly. Matt placed second in 16:05. Antonian took the team title scoring 53 points over Smithson Valley who scored 67. 25TH ANNUAL GREENHILL/LUKE'S LOCKER 6-MILE RELAY: US#6 Cedar Park popped a 30:11 total team time at the 6-mile relay to take home the team title.
