Analysis: Nicholas Russell is one of the top returning guys in the state of Idaho. During his junior year, Russell finished fifth at the Bob Firman Invitational. After that, he went undefeated until the Nike Cross Nationals Northwest Regional where he finished fifth. During his undefeated streak, he won the Boise City Meet, the Idaho 4A District III Championships, and an Idaho Class 5A State Cross Country title. At Nike Cross Nationals Russell finished 16th, earning All-American status.
On the track, Russell has PRs of 1:59.65 in the 800m, 4:17.56 in the 1600m, and 9:24.91 in the 3200m.
