Dylan Jacobs and Sandburg Have A Big Day At Illinois State Meet

Foot Locker National Champion Dylan Jacobs had himself quite the day on Saturday at the IHSA Boys State Track & Field Championship. The Notre Dame signee took home two gold medals in the Class 3A state championships.

His first race on the track was the boys 4x800m run where he anchored Sandburg to victory and a new US No. 4 time of 7:45.12. They beat out second place Neuqua Valley High School by three seconds (7:48.28). Neuqua Valley's time is tied for the US No. 16 with the guys from Northport New York.

Jacobs then went on to just barely take the win in the 1600m run as he edged out Granite City High School junior Andrew O'Keefe at the line. The duo went 4:11.60 and 4:11.68. Their times are the US No. 37 and the US No. 39 marks respectively.
