Analysis: This is undoubtedly Virginia's biggest meet of the weekend, and the third largest on the state's calendar, with big star power and teams vying for some podium finishes later in the season. If nothing else, this meet will provide some big performances. A year ago, Cardinal Gibbons (NC) High's Connor Lane won the elite boys varsity race in 15:21.00, while Liberty Christian Academy's Noel Palmer won the girls field in 18:21.30. Blacksburg, which is returning in 2017, won the girls team title last year over Cardinal Gibbons by just five points.
