I am continually amazed at the amount of distance coverage and lack of any type of coverage of javelin throwers (or any throwers for that matter). you hear about billy bob running a 19 minute 5k but never hear anything about any type of thrower. and before you say I'm complaining about my lack of coverage, i could care less. i go out and throw and watch people be amazed at how far i throw a stick they don't even the name of. i throw javelin because i love it. everything about it. i don't throw javelin for the fame, there is no fame to be found from javelin in the US. for example, Adam Sparks just broke the NATIONAL RECORD for his age group (13-14) and still has yet to receive any type of recognition for his achievements. this is ridiculous.
