PCSAA Championships 2021

Washington, DC
Hosted by BASIS DC

Meet Information

PCSAA Championships: Saturday, October 30 @ Kenilworth Park

  • Course Open to Walk - 8:15 AM
  • Coach's Meeting - 9:00 AM
  • Middle School 4K - 9:30 AM
  • Middle School 3K - 10:15 AM
  • Middle School Awards follow 3K Race - about 10:45 AM
  • High School 5K - 11:30 AM
  • High School Awards follow 5K Race - about 12:00 PM
The 5K race has traditionally been limited to 8 runners from each gender. This year, no team has many more than 8 runners. We have therefore decided to allow unlimited entries this year such as to not exclude just a few runners. We would rather give them one last chance to compete this season especially with COVID-19 taking last season.

The 4K race is considered the middle school "varsity race" and the 3K race should be any overflow or additional runners. The 3K race has unlimited entries. Coaches may only enter 8 boys and 8 girls in the 4K race.

Meet Location/Course Maps:

The high school course is the same as the previous DCSAA 5k Championship course. The middle school course will be 3k and 4K variation on the high school course.

We will have port-a-johns on site for the meets but please note there is no large restroom facility for changing so runners need to come dressed for the race. Please note buses should drop off at the lot on Deane Ave. NE.

Covid-19 Safety Plan:

Each team will have a designated tent area. Teams are to stay in this area except when warming up or actively racing. There is a mask mandate per PCSAA rules: all athletes and coaches must wear a mask at all times except when actively racing. Please adhere to this rule and enforce within your own team. We also strongly encourage spectators to wear a mask and socially distance. Hand sanitizer will be provided to each team and also located near the port-a-johns and the finishing area.

Timing/Course Marshals:

M&D Timing will be doing the timing for the meet. There will be two course marshals monitoring the meet. M&D will be using race bibs for number identification and timing.

Coaches Meeting:

The coaches meeting will be held promptly at 9:00AM the day of the meet. At this time coaches will receive their team packets with numbers. We will also give any last minute details regarding the course.

Please remind your runners of sportsmanlike behavior. Cross Country is not a contact sport and runners should not be pushing one another. They also should not be blocking other runners from passing or using foul or inappropriate language.

Meet Registration will take place on Mile Split. Payment should have already been received by the PCSAA for the season. Payment questions should be directed to pcsaadc@gmail.com.

Reminder team rosters are due to the PCSAA & DCSAA before the first contest.

If you have any questions please reach the PCSAA Cross Country commissioner by email at rachel.mcninch@basised.com.
