KINGSTON, Ont. (September 18, 2011) – The Gaels' Stephanie Hulse of Harrinton, Ont. on the women's side and rookie Dave Cashin of Pembroke, Ont. on the men's side each finished third place at the Queen's cross country invitational on Saturday afternoon on Fort Henry Hill in Kingston, Ont. 

Queen's captured the men's title from the A team and finished second with its B squad with Cashin leading all Gaels runners with a time of 15:33. Andrew Nixon of Guelph, Ont. from the University of Guelph won the event with a time of 15:23, Allan Brett of Ottawa also representing the Gryphons finished second with a time of 15:28 followed by Cashin 10 seconds back.

Overall, Queen's A was first, Queen's B second and the University of Guelph was third.

In the women's event Hulse was the top Gael crossing the finish line in third place with a time of 18:15. Carise Thompson of Dundas, Ont. representing the Gryphons placed first with a time of 17:38 while Kristen Flanagan of Kitchener, Ont. representing the Waterloo Warriors finished only one second before Hulse with a 18:14 time for second.

Overall Queen's A placed third as a team. The University of Guelph captured first place while the University of Waterloo was second.
