In its 30th year of honoring the nation's best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, in collaboration with USA TODAY High School Sports, today announced Kaitlin York of American Christian Academy as its 2014-15 Gatorade Alabama Girls Cross Country Runner of the Year.

On December 3, 2014 at the College Football Hall of Fame, Atlanta Track Club will present the 42 deserving scholastic student-athletes, 21 boys and 21 girls, to be named to the First, Second or Third All-Metro Cross Country Teams. Each of the All-Metro athletes will be recognized for their extraordinary seasons at the All-Metro Banquet and First Team All-Metro honorees will receive a $500 scholarship from Atlanta Track Club. Also honored that evening will be the All-Metro Women’s and Men’s coaches whose teams won State Championship titles, and four individual awards for Outstanding Male/Female State Cross-Country Athlete and Outstanding Dedication Award for the Male/Female Cross-Country Coach. This year’s banquet will feature an inspiring keynote speaker, the fastest marathoner in U.S. History, Ryan Hall. Hall will speak to the young athletes about his experiences running in high school, college and at the Olympics.

Atlanta Track Club has selected 42 deserving scholastic student athletes, 21 boys and 21 girls, to be named to the First, Second or Third All-Metro Teams. The 42 honorees were chosen based on an updated, calculated, ranking system and now coaches, parents, media and the general public will vote to determine their place on the three teams. Only one vote is allowed per person.You will be ranking the list of 42 athletes and determining their placement on the First, Second or Third All-Metro Cross Country Teams. Coaches' votes will equal 80% of an athlete's total score. Public votes will equal 20% of an athlete's total score. The Atlanta Track Club Foundation will be granting a $2,500 college scholarship to a female Metro Atlanta High School Senior graduating in 2015. The scholarship is in memory of Patty Foell. Nominations can only be made by High School Coaches.

SPOKANE, Wash. – The GRU Augusta Men’s Cross Country team finished 31st at the NCAA Championships Saturday afternoon in a 10K race at Plantes Ferry Athletic Complex. The Jaguars represented Georgia Regents University for the first time at a championship event.
AUGUSTA, Ga. – GRU Augusta Men’s Cross Country seniors Jaiden Brandt and Dustin Ross and sophomore Preston Jones were named All-Region by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) following the NCAA regional championship meet on Nov. 9.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – GRU Augusta sent both teams to the NCAA Southeast Regionals at McAlpine Creek Park where senior Jaiden Brandt placed second to lead the No. 2 Jaguars to third overall and give them a berth to the NCAA Nationals, while the women took 15th in Charlotte, N.C.

AUGUSTA, Ga. – The GRU Augusta men’s cross country program tied for first place with Columbus State in the Peach Belt Conference Championships, while the Jaguar women placed sixth Saturday morning in Americus, Ga., on the campus of Georgia Southwestern at the Southland Academy Course.
