JANUARY 20—Tahesia Harrigan-Scott and Karene King won the 55m and 200m respectively in the 2014 Jimmy Carnes Indoor Invitational in Gainesville, Florida on Friday, to kick off their respective annual under cover campaigns. Meanwhile, Ashley Kelly won a sprint double in New York.   

JUNE 24—Sprinter Karene King became the third British Virgin Islands athlete to qualify for the Aug 10-18, IAAF World Championships in Moscow Russia, when she hit the mark in the prelims of the 200m on Sunday afternoon during the Trinidad and Tobago National Championships.  

MAY 28—Athens 2004 Olympic Games champion Jeremy Wariner of the USA, will highlight the 400m in Saturday’s inaugural British Virgin Islands Twilight Invitational at the A. O. Shirley Recreation Grounds on Tortola.

APRIL 21—For the fourth time in her career, British Virgin Islands sprinter Tahesia Harrigan-Scott has qualified for the IAAF World Championships in the 100m dash.

APRIL 15—Chantel Malone became the territory’s first athlete punching her qualifying ticket to the 14th IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia this summer while Karene King narrowly missed the mark.

APRIL 7—With the 2013 outdoor track and field season in full swing, the top BVI female athletes have begun making their marks as they seek to qualify for the 14th IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia, later this summer.

FEBRUARY 5—For the last 10 years, Tahesia Harrigan-Scott has been the face of BVI Track and Field. Alone at many Games and Championships along the way earlier in her career, she had always been asking Chief Coach Dag Samuels one simple question.  

FEBRUARY 5—After they went through sessions on nutrition, massage therapy and anti doping, Grenada’s Kirani James joined the parade of Olympic Games and IAAF World Championships gold medal speakers, Dwight Phillips, J.J. Johnson and Harvey Glance from the USA, at the Feb. 2, Tahesia Harrigan-Scott Speed and Technical Clinic.

JANUARY 27—London 2012 Olympic Games and 2011 IAAF World 400m champion Kirani James of Grenada and the USA’s Dwight Phillips, a 2004 Athens Olympic Games Long Jump champ who has also bagged 4 IAAF World titles and has the joint 5th best Long Jump of all time, will highlight the Feb 2 Tahesia Harrigan-Scott Speed and Technical Camp.

LONDON—With the pressure of qualifying for the London Olympic Games off her shoulder, Tahesai Harrigan-Scott was thinking big for the marquee sporting spectacle.  

LONDON, August 3—When she steps on the track on this evening to face the starters gun, sprinter Tahesia Harrigan-Scott will become just the fourth BVI Olympian to compete in successive Olympic Games.

LONDON, July 31—An Olympic Games opening ceremonies veteran, a returnee and a newbie, were among the British Virgin Islands delegation, joining the 204 nations marching in the opening ceremonies of the London Olympic Games.

LONDON, JULY 25—BVI London 2012 Olympic Games sprinters Tahesai Harrigan-Scott and J’Maal Alexander, wrapped up their training camp in Aston on Tuesday and moved into the Olympic Village later in the evening, ahead of Friday’s Olympic Games opening ceremonies.

Sebastian Coe, the London 2012 chairman, made an unscheduled appearance in the Olympice Village here this afternoon for the first of what will be 204 Welcoming Ceremonies at the Games – with the two-strong British Virgin Islands team receiving the first official greeting. JUNE 20—The top BVI female athletes will compete in the Bahamas and Jamaica’s Olympic Games Trials starting on Friday.  

MAY 9—Chantel Malone will compete in the inaugural Cayman Islands Invitational today, leading off the field of the territory’s top athletes in competition through Sunday, May 13.  

APRIL 30—For only the second time in its 42-year history, the BVI Athletics Association fielded a true Sr. Women 4x100m Relay team, when they lined up in the USA vs the World at the Penn Relays in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on Saturday, competing against the Bahamas, Dominican Republic, Jamaica, Nigeria, Trinidad and Tobago, USA Red and USA Blue.

APRIL 24—The territory’s Sr. Women’s 4x100m Relay team will get its biggest test at 1:15 p.m. on Saturday, when they face the starters gun in the USA vs the World in the prestigious Penn Relays. The meet will be televised live on NBC from 1-3 p.m. Eastern Time.

MARCH 24—USA Track and Field has accepted the BVI’s 4 x100m National Women’s Relay team to compete in the prestigious Penn Relays in the USA vs Rest of the World Challenge, which will be televised live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on April 28.
