What are ya gonna do...
When life throws this kind of crap at you, what are you gonna' do? Well, there are a few things one could do....1. Bitch, complain, and feel sorry for oneself. 2. Complain that life sucks. 3. Go for a run and then make your cold worse. 4. Take things how they come and let the body recover.... I opt for the last one. Yeah, it sucks. Today was my day to qualify for Student World Cross Country, my second HUGE goal of this year...but what can I do. Yes, it is frustrating, but right now my chest is full of phlegm, I'm dripping yellow snot (sorry for the graphic description), I have no voice, I literally cannot talk, I can only whisper.....I am sure this is a blessing for a lot of people. hahahahhah Just kidding. Anyway, my chest is full of phelgm and my cough sounds really gross and mucousy. So yeah, I COULD have gone and raced today, but it would have been the stupidest thing I could have done. Instead I have been stuck in bed since Wednesday afternoon watching all the DVDs my friends and brother sent me from the States, eat and let me body recover. I can't sit here and worry the whole time because I can't change it. I am sick, period. It really sucks, but I have accepted it and am taking steps to let my body fully recover. I have been pretty much running continuously since August so I am not afraid that all of my fitness is falling out the window...I know I will feel stiff the first couple of days back running, but I get my fitness back quickly and I know my body will get back in the swing of things pretty quickly. I am going to go to the doctor tomorrow and see if I need antibiotics...I am pretty sure I do because it's just not getting any better at all. So when everything else seems to be going wrong, control what you can, your ATTITUDE. I am staying positive. I love to run and I miss it right now!!! There are a few positives that can come from being "down" and not being able to run....One can appreciate running more, letting the body completely rest and recover so when one comes back to run, all the muscles and fibers will be regenerated and be ready to rock and roll!!! Man, what I wouldn't give to go on a 2 hour long run right now....Or even just a short run and come back and do some sitsups...I have come to really like working on my core because I have noticed a lot of progress as far as strength goes. Well, I have to go hock up my left lung so I will write when I am feeling better.!

NEXT: March 6, 7, 8, 9. 10 – Finally, I can run again...

PREVIOUS: February 26, 27, 28, March 1 – Oh man, not again...i am sick!
