ADIDAS TRACK NATIONALS | GREENSBORO
Marcus T. Johnson Track has seen plenty over the years, but this year while there were a lot of performances worth remembering on their own, below are just a few.
Thomas Fitzgerald ran 52.19 in the 400m hurdles, the sixth-fastest mark in the country this season, and walked away with a meet record that had outlasted some genuinely loaded fields before this weekend.
The middle school side of the meet produced its own jaw-dropper. Rhilynn White ran 14.41 in the 100m hurdles, a US#1 mark for her age group.

One of the other stories belonged to a kid who had competed in exactly one decathlon in his life before this one. Seamus Corcoran of Pope John came to Greensboro with no real expectations attached to his name and left holding a piece of New Jersey history. He scored 6,298 points across the two-day, ten-event grind, beating the state's sophomore class record by 370 points, a record that had sat untouched since 2012. He won three events outright.
He opened with an 11.79 in the 100m, a personal best, then turned around and broke his own school long jump record at 21-9¾, a mark that had stood since 2007. By the time it ended he'd also won the pole vault at 14-3¼ and the javelin at 167-9¼. His total now sits seventh on New Jersey's all-time decathlon list, a board still led by Vince Reilly's 6,924 from 1976.
